Here we celebrate places that have achieved Compassionate Community or City status!
Compassionate Communities are communities that publicly encourages, supports and celebrates care for one another during life’s most testing moments and experiences, especially those pertaining to life-threatening and life-limiting illness, chronic disability, frail ageing and dementia, grief and bereavement, and the trials and burdens of long term care. These are naturally occurring communities being given the opportunity to engage and learn in supporting each other.
A Compassionate City is a Civic Society that recognises that care for one another at times of crisis and loss is everyone’s responsibility.
